Application Form | Summer School: Italian Motor Valley Experience 2026

Modena, 'Enzo Ferrari' Engineering Department
July 12th-25th, 2026
High-School students (16-18 y.o.)

The program is open to candidates who are at least 16 years old by the enrollment to the Summer School. Students who are currently 15 may apply only if they will turn 16 no later than April 10th, 2026. We understand that this may be disappointing for younger students, but we are unable to grant any exceptions to the minimum-age requirement due to administrative constraints intrinsic to our procedures. We sincerely hope that students who do not meet the age criteria for this edition will keep their interest alive and consider applying to future editions of the School.

As for the previous editions, also the 2026 edition of the Italian Motor Valley Experience (IMVE) will admit a maximum of 30 students and will be activated with a minimum enrollment of 20 participants.

The selection process will be conducted by the Scientific Committee, which will carry on a first desk evaluation based on the academic curriculum and the motivation letter submitted during the application process, and then score the applications according to the program’s criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a virtual one-on-one interview, scheduled in mid-March 2026. A maximum of 85 applicants will be admitted to the motivational interviews phase.

The students selected for the one-to-one meeting will receive an email notice along with the date and time for their interviews. Students do not need to study or prepare for the interview. A C1 level of English proficiency is highly appreciated, although having an official certificate attesting the level of knowledge is not mandatory, as English proficiency will be assessed during the motivational interview.

Students who successfully pass the interview will receive an admission notice via email by early April 2026, together with the instructions for paying the deposit required to secure the place. Should an admitted student decline their offer, we will contact candidates on the waitlist to fill any available spots. The non-refundable deposit payment is scheduled for mid-April, while the balance payment is scheduled for the end of May. The deposit will be refunded only due to government restrictions that make international travel impossible.

A scholarship covering the balance fee is available for one participant, awarded on the basis of demonstrated need. Applicants wishing to be considered must provide documentation confirming that they are already receiving full need-based financial aid from their school in their home country—for example, a letter signed by the school director. Only one scholarship will be awarded.

An online information session is planned for late January.

For updates and further information, candidates are invited to consult the MUNER website.

The application form to the 2026 edition of the Summer School will be available until Feb. 28th, 2026.
